Depression, Anxiety & Stress
We use the word ‘depression’ to describe the feeling of overwhelming sadness. This can come from a variety of reasons and in varying degrees. Anxiety is the feeling we describe when we are overwhelmingly filled with fear, and like depression, it too can come from a variety of reasons and varying degrees. Both affect our overall life functioning and wellness. Both can lead to increased stress, distress, disengagement and even numbing; all of which are ways we experience discomfort. It is very important that in order to address these symptoms, we explore the why before we engage with the ‘what to do’. It may take a gradual approach of reframing, rediscovering, and reconnecting with aspects of your life that increase experiences of comfort, peace and joy. What can that look like today?
I offer support to help individuals identify sources of stress, how it manifests into symptoms of anxiety and/or depression, and begin to address these sources of discomfort in a healthy way
